time to take vitamins

The best time to take your vitamins depends on the type you’re taking. Some vitamins are best taken after a meal, while it’s best to take others on an empty stomach.

For the nutriburst range the vast majority of the vitamins and minerals included in the range are best taken with food and in the morning. So the ideal time would be during your first meal of the day. If you’re a breakfast person then with your breakfast and if you’re a brunch person with that meal instead.

How do you know when you need to take vitamins?

For the vast majority of people living with the stresses of modern living and the western diet there will be deficiencies that we may not even be aware of. We may have got used to being tired or having lacklustre skin and hair. For others there may be more specific signs that they are lacking in particular nutrients – ageing skin, brittle nails, fluctuating moods can all be signs that nutrient deficiencies exist.

Therefore, I recommend a good quality multivitamin as a foundation for most of my clients. The Health and Vitality multivitamin from nutriburst is a good choice. Then, I recommend that clients look at adding on to that foundation. The range from nutriburst includes supplement combinations that target, bone health, energy levels and hair health to name but a few. In addition, I also recommend clients look for support in gut health so via a probiotic and/or fermented foods ideally, but also omega 3 fats from either oily fish, nut and/or seeds and their oils e.g. hemp oil, flax oil or again through supplementation.

How do you know which nutrients you should take?

Whilst taking a good quality multivitamin should pose no problems for the vast majority there can be some interactions between medication and supplements so if you’re on medication for a health condition then do consult your doctor before taking supplements. That aside you should then focus on your health objectives identifying any shortfall or deficiencies based on symptoms. If you are unsure, I highly recommend consulting the BANT webpage to find a suitable therapist in your area to help you create a personalised plan.
